It was a cold Feb evening, with beer's in our hand's, We were sitting in the caravan at

Upton just chillin, With 2 scooters sitting outside, we had been to a couple of Do's over

Xmas & early January, and didn't really fit in with other Club's Culture's, So the

conversation turned to starting our own club.

I had been involved with a few Club's before....The Legendary 3 ACES in the early 80's,

And then was one of the founder member's of the Mo-Heads, Who were a scoot scum

pack who road out of Camphill, Nuneaton in the Mid 80's .

So we decided What the hell !!!Let's do it.......What Name should we run under ??,

Then Penny came up with TREAKLE TOWN, As that is what Nuneaton is known as

(in tongue in cheek way).

So we decided to take that name and turn it around in our favour.

Then came our Club patche's, We wanted something to symbolise our way of life,

So as toker's, we adapted the Ganja Leaf, with the English Lion over it, which

stand's for English Ganja Smoker's, we then changed the 'C ' in Treakle for a 'K'

to indicate the weight of a (kilo), so now, We had a name and a patch & a meeting

place....

So Treakle was launched, with 3 member's & 2 Scoot's, we decided to cover as many

Rally's and Local Do's as possible that year to get the club out there, and noticed !

(there were snigger's and laugh's in the scooter world) which didn't bother us

As we knew we were different, so we adopted the Anti-Nowhere Leagues "So What"

Record as our club anthem,(which say's it all really).

And then back on the road, then came Skeggy, Brewers, Camber, Run To The Shires,

Which most of these were spent on our own, as many club's kept us at arm's length,

So then came the decision to hold our own Annual Rally "Scoots 'n' Boots". At Upton.

So we rushed around with 6 weeks to organise, we invited all of the Local Club's to

attend, we got the patches made, Hired the Band "Attica" Who had appeared on MTV

Then came the day, we waited and waited then a couple of All Or Nothing Scooter

Club arrived and a few of B5000'S......Some Solo Riders and 3 White Lions all in

total about 30 people, So then the party started...

There wasen't anybody who left that Do, that didn't say it was a Brilliant Night,

And it was good to get back to the Old Ways, we started to make some good

friends, which later became member's, it wern't untill Hemsby we started to

get member's, ( Lil Kazza, Big Kaz,Kev The Mod) So our Rally, even though

Poorly attended was a success, as we aquired these people as members from it.

So now we are at the Winter Warmer with 7 member's and 5 Scoot's .

  We then met the Crazy LOT !! From Burton .....Big Cliff, Andy, Deano,Jayne,

Pissypants, And the others......and Partied with them for the weekend..

What a time we had, and made Good and Close friends.

Back to Treakle we came, We then decided to hold a Annual Xmas Do,

(The Christmas Rinse), for those who were there which was about 60 of ya !!

Understand why we don't hold Winter Do's at Upton, no-more, but from that cold

December Do, We gained another 4 member's and 4 Scoot's.

      So coming into christmas we were standing at 11 member's and 9 Scooters,

We spent Christmas, New Year, & January just spending time and partying

between the members.

This is where the heart of Treakle was born.

    Then came February, Our Anniversary (Feb 4th) we held a disco and was 

suprised how many turned up, from the Rally's & Clubs we had met, and more

Member's joined, This is where Nigel & Trina joined from Birmingham,

they had been to our Do's before and enjoyed themselves, so it was a

natural process really.

   We then as a club covered the February Do's (B5000's) & (All or Nothing-

21ST AnniversaryDo.) We wern't a small club anymore, which was

 noticed at these events.

  We still get the snigger's and looks which still dosent bother us....

                           "WE ARE TREAKLE"

These were the thoughts of our members mind's still being kept

at arms length, by clubs but we soldier on.

 This started to work in our favour, as other People started to join

that didn't fit in others aswell

 So now we have a strong membership, with many different sort's of people,

and other clubs noticed the difference of Treakle....We have Punk's,Mod,s,Skins.......

all under the Treakle Banner, we gained members from Nuneaton,Tamworth,

Birmingham, Redditch, Leicester, Coventry, Lichfield.

     So a little club from Nuneaton had spread its wings, Not all into smokin weed, 

But love the Treakle way...and the Treakle attitude.

We now stand at ....... 26 Member's and 19 Scooters & 9 people waiting to join

With the attitude of trying to attend as many Rally's and Club Do's as we can,

   to have fun outside the scooter world, as a family, (which we are achieving)...

We started out as a Fun Family Rally Going Club without Rules and Politics,

Which we have managed to do, Our Mozza (Midget Skin Bird) has more

AUNTIES & UNCLES then ever !!! ( she loves it)

So If you see the Treakle Banner or one of our Members at Do's,

& Rallys come and say HI !!, We dont bite !!,

Or come to the Treakle Camp for a Beer, you will be welcomed the 

TREAKLE WAY !....... Or just stay in the Background and Snigger

with the rest....(so what) comes to mind,

You never know you might just Like Us,But you will never know

unless you try, and if we are not your cup of tea then you can always

walk away...............

But Treakle at the moment is unique and we are proud of the 

people we have got, we are more of a family than a club ,

as we all keep in contact on MSN or phone,and see each other on

a daily basis.

    We are now getting ready and planning our second Annual Rally

SCOOTS N BOOTS 2    (1st - 3rd Sept) with Bands

    The Targets .....& Dc Fontana........

Plus trying to attend as many Rallys upto it as possible,

 Untill you understand the Treakle way, You will always be confused

    TREAKLE FOR LIFE !!!! The only way out is death !!!......lol
