To All My Treacle Town friends past and present, there are too many to mention but you all know who you are…………..this is from me.

I have pretty much done things on my own in the Scooter World, went to the dues and watch the bands though sometimes a few of us would go but at Rallies I rode on my own in my own little way in my own little world it was my escape.
I always met new people, new friends and acquaintances but there was still something missing for me, the companionship of getting on your scoot and riding in a pack, comradeship, the fun and frivolity around the camp which I witnessed around me and as much as I did enjoy to do my own thing when it suited me, it could still be isolated being on your own.
Then one day I was reading through the latest copy of Scootering Mag as we do and looking for some future events to put in the diary when I spotted a new and local do.
Treakle Town 1st Scoots and Boots do !!!!!!!!!
Me being a Beduth lad was interested so I sent an E-mail to “Spongeybollox” (Gordon) asking about what was planned such as was there a band playing or DJ and all that kind of stuff.
Got me reply and so I thought I’d give it a go so good ole Spongey sent me some directions.
So Saturday came round so I got meself all Modded up, packed me tent and sleeping bag and the usual bottle of Vodka and set off, not knowing what to expect (now aint that a good feeling by the way)
Got there, threw me tent up and a few scooterists already camped came over to say hello, mainly remember Big (Trojan) Kaz and her lad Steph who quickly asked “hey are you a Mod” I replied yes and he just said oh, I guessed at the time they didn’t like mods much  eh. (friends now though)
Bumped into Hazel and said hello as recognised her from being out and about (truth is it was really Beduth) anyway I then ventured into the Barn which literally was a Barn where the do was being held.
Saw a few friendly faces from the All or Nothing SC I’d met down at the Isle of Wight previous and started chatting away enjoying my bottle of Vodka and Coke.

About this time I met Penny, which is Gords Mrs, she was selling a few copied dodgy DVD’s & CD’s  (sorry Pen but they were), I was hanging around the table having a look and  later Pen confessed she thought I was a bit of a weirdo hanging about on me own, but that was soon to change.
Somehow during the course of the night though I don’t know how as the drink had well taken effect on me I met up with Spongey who was actually the DJ for the night, he was and still is this big punk dude, and its fair to say that was the beginning of a new friendship which has since grown into much more than than that.
Soppy girly shit I know but this is my story and that how it was.

Next couple of months and few more local Scootering events such as the Pet food run and All or Nothing Charity do at the Jag club and I bumped into Treakle again.
It was only a small club with 5 members in total and the club was still in its infancy.
We had a we chat I was kindly given a ticket for the Christmas rinse do which was a nice generous gesture.

Next big scooter event for me was Hemsby, I got a call from Treacle asking if I was interested and of course I jumped to the chance.
So theres me, Gord, Penny, little Mozza and Big Kaz heading off into yet another new adventure.
Great rally by the way, fantastic memories and still one of my favourites.
What an absolute great weekend, the friendship was well and truly forged, I saw a few people get on so well looking out for each other and bonding, a very close knit crowd, all 5 of us.
During the rally and me in one of my drunken stupers on vodka beer and tequila I just said that’s it im joining treacle, im IN.

And here I am writing about how it all started for me.
Of course its not always been so rosy there have been a few fall outs as you would expect, especially in my opinion from a club that is co close and tight, and growing in numbers and also in friendship.
Now I could get all sentimental about Gord and Pen and about the whole Treakle thing and the people in it, but I cant be arsed cos we know what we have got and how we are and I wouldn’t change a thing.

I’ve been with Treakle pretty early on in the clubs forming and that’s something im proud of it means a lot to me.
A lot of the way we are is just the Treakle way and you have to be a part of it to understand it, maybe some people would not fit in or its not for them but I know that it is for me that’s for sure and in Treakle Town SC,  no-one is a stranger, just a new friend.

And this is my story
